Looking forward to joining Hugh Hansen and He Jing at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's KoGuan Law School next week. The Law School, one of China's oldest and largest, counts law schools at Emory, Cornell, Iowa, and the National University of Singapore among its institutional partners.

# new year, new look

The world can truly be a small place today. I wanted to refresh the look of my website and puttered around online for someone who could help. A third-party digital platform that works like Amazon.com connected me to a freelancer in Nepal. The platform rates service providers, provides a secure messaging system, and holds payment in escrow so each side can trust that payment will be made at the appropriate time. Technology allowed two complete strangers to overcome the challenges posed by time, space, and trust. While face time remains important, this project reminded me that there is more that we can do together, both professionally and personally, regardless of who we are or where we might be. Digital Platforms Conference – March 13, 2020

We're excited to announce our inaugural digital platforms conference. We expect a good group of representatives from tech companies, practice, academia, and government. The conference will cover 4 broad areas: intellectual property, digital transformation in the supply chain/IoT, antitrust, and privacy issues. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 13. Some extolled IP education, others identified strong leadership at the USTPO and IP associations, the patent bar, inventors, as well as developments in Europe and China. These were all well-chosen.
