64th Annual IP Conference – Importance of Sponsorships

UIC John Marshall Law School’s Center for Intellectual Property, Information & Privacy Law is pleased to present its 64th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference. This one-day conference will bring together nationally-known in-house counsel, government officials, attorneys, and academics to debate the most important IP, IT, and privacy law issues of the day.

Sponsorships and event revenues are the principal source of funding for our work throughout the year. Many aspects of the value of participation and sponsorship remain unchanged in our transition online. We have sought to balance these goals as best as we can.

We thank the many organizations that stepped up to support us and encourage others to join us. This is an opportunity to signal your presence and participation to a distinguished group of speakers and attendees. Sponsors also enjoy a host of tangible benefits at the event itself.

Your support will also help us offer complimentary access to premier education and networking opportunities for students and government employees and scholarships to needs-based attendees and keep registration fees affordable. We look forward to hearing from you (see https://bit.ly/3mJm4yw for details).

Speaking at IP Colloquium at Indiana University Maurer School of Law (Bloomington)

Honored to speak at Indiana University Maurer School of Law on Thursday. I’ll be sharing my latest paper, “Saving Substantial Similarity,” which reveals a silent and startling decline in copyright owners’ ability to vindicate their rights in court, explains how lessons from design law can help reverse that decline, as well as the broader implications of systemic bias on the civil justice system as seen through the lens of copyright infringement.
