UIC John Marshall Law School’s Center for Intellectual Property (IP), Information & Privacy Law is proud to offer its “IP Master Class” on Friday, April 16. This one-day, intensive CLE program caps enrollment to facilitate participant interaction with the faculty. Up to a third of each session will be dedicated to responding to audience Q&A. Audience members can virtually join the discussion in real-time as they would during a live seminar.

Delighted to be speaking on “Antitrust’s AI Revolution” tomorrow at the “Competition Law in the Digital Era” Seminar co-organized by Shalom Comparative Research Institute, Eliyahu Law & Tech Center, Oxford University’s Centre for Competition Law & Policy, and Fordham Law School’s Center on Law and Information Policy.
The challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence brings to competition law transcend national borders, just as it does in many other areas. By working together, learning from each other, and having the courage to experiment with new ways of doing old things, we can keep this important area of the law working well for the benefit of us all.
Looking forward to moderating “Antitrust: AI and Digital Platforms,” panel that will discuss a variety of issues, including U.S. antitrust and tech platforms (including privacy, equity, and data access concerns), Senator Amy Klobuchar’s antitrust bill, AI and antitrust, as well as Chinese/European developments.

UIC’s Faculty-Administrator Leadership Program (FALP) offers front row access and mentorship in higher education administration to a small group of faculty members.
This year’s program kicked off with my FALP colleagues and I meeting with Dean Michael Pagano (College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs).
In a wide-ranging discussion, some issues Dean Pagano shared with us included the role of a Dean, strategies in scenario planning, how he pivoted his faculty and students to online learning, addressing social justice issues at a college level, and melding college-level achievements with the broader strategic goals of the university.
Delighted to join Professor Thibault Schrepel, Creator and Director of Stanford Law School’s Computational Antitrust Project for a podcast to discuss the promise and perils of using AI to adjudicate antitrust cases.
Computational antitrust has attracted scores of admirers. The U.S. Justice Department announced its participation in the Stanford project shortly after its launch in January, and its website boasts no less than fifty other agencies. The New York Times, Le Monde, and others have reported on this exciting new legal frontier.
