Careers in the Law | Welcoming Ros Lister
BlogPleased to welcome Rosalind Lister to Penn State Dickinson Law. Ros joins us as Assistant Director of Career Services. She spent the last 16 years advising on career service at West Virginia University College of Law. We connected recently about the Loyola Patent Law Interview Program, a two-day interview program held in Chicago at Loyola University Chicago School of Law each year that brings together patent law employers and law students from across the country to interview for summer associate positions and post-graduate employment. Over lunch, we spoke about family, careers, and institutions. As things turned out, we shared several connections in West Virginia and Chicago. Looking forward to working with Ros and her colleagues to help launch our many talented students off to good jobs when they graduate. #law #career #students

Pittsburg | #threerivers alum meetings
BlogI recently joined my academic colleagues from the region for the Sixth Annual Three Rivers Intellectual Property (#IP) and #Technology Law Colloquium, hosted by University of Pittsburgh School of Law Professor Michael Madison. Professor Madison teaches a Technology, Law, and Leadership seminar and gave University of Houston Law Center Professor Aman Gebru and me a copy of #jimcollins' #goodtogreat .
Meeting alums is a highlight of any work trip. I was delighted to meet Dusty Kirk, Noland Cheung, and their loved ones. Dusty is a trusted adviser to clients in all aspects of real estate development and serves as Partner at Reed Smith LLP. As Chair of the Dentons Cohen & Grigsby IP National Practice Group, Noland concentrates his practice on IP protection and enforcement. Also glad to meet Chip Dougherty, Associate Director for IP at Carnegie Mellon University's Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation.
Looking forward to seeing them again during my next trip back in a few months for our Penn State Dickinson Law alum reception in Pittsburg!

Three Rivers | Intellectual Property and Technology Law Colloquium
BlogLaw schools in Pennsylvania and its neighbors are natural partners underpinned by our deep historical and people-to-people ties. The Three Rivers Intellectual Property and Technology Law Colloquium exemplifies this close and collegial partnership. Named after the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers that meet to form the Ohio River in Pittsburg, scholars meet to share papers and projects at a working papers colloquium.
