Delighted to be back with my fellow co-hires at the Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) retreat. Penn State University formed ICDS to connect disciplines to generate timely, informed research with real-world impact. As you can see from the slide, ICDS exists at the intersection of #diversity, #AI and #datascience, #digitalinnovation, #computationalscience and #prediction, #datasecurity and #privacy law, #infrastructure, and #industrypartnerships.

The mission of ICDS is an important one and can be challenging to fulfill. Scholars approach AI and big data questions differently, but partnerships like ours are essential to a building shared and sustainable future that is approaching us more quickly, with more exciting possibilities and with the prospect of more disruptive change than ever before. Looking forward to what we can accomplish together.
