WalletHub recently interviewed me for their article “Credit Card Fraud Guide.”

I noted that while banks have made strides in fraud detection through machine learning and real-time monitoring, criminals are keeping pace, exploiting everything from phishing schemes to data breaches. I also discussed synthetic identity fraud, which involves criminals combining real and fabricated personal information—such as a legitimate Social Security number with a false name—to create entirely new identities.
