For Penn State, a week like this goes well beyond any individual conference or meeting. International relationships become most valuable when they create opportunities for others: joint research, visiting scholars and speakers, student opportunities, institutional partnerships, comparative teaching, professional programming, and connections with policymakers, courts, industry, and the profession.

Singapore is an especially important place for building those relationships. Few jurisdictions bring together sophisticated legal institutions, world-class universities, policymakers, global technology companies, dispute-resolution institutions, and an ambitious innovation ecosystem in such close proximity.

For Penn State Dickinson Law and the wider Penn State University, that creates opportunities to connect our strengths in AI, intellectual property, innovation, data, technology policy, and interdisciplinary research with partners confronting many of the same questions from different institutional and regional perspectives.
