First ever online conference – done!
On Friday, we hosted our first-ever completely online conference. It seemed appropriate that our conference focused on legal and policy issues arising from digital platforms. Given the strong interest by attendees who signed up earlier, we decided on Wednesday to migrate the event online. Surprisingly, we soon received inquiries from China, Europe, India, and elsewhere, and were glad that many more folks were able to join us.
We were pleased to welcome CSX Chairman and CEO James Foote, who was here to deliver the conference’s closing keynote in person. Here to meet him were CSX’s Head of State Government Relations and Community Affairs Tom Livingston and UIC’s Interim Vice Chancellor for Public and Government Affairs Theresa Mintle.
Thanks to our distinguished conference faculty and to our attendees for sticking with us as we made the transition. Thanks also to IP Law Fellow Kyle Serilla and our student helpers Natalie Elizaroff, Audrey Meyer, Sabina Nedkova, and Julie Kim for helping make what may be our largest conference ever possible!
