Kilburn & Strode Invention Capture Roundtable

Thanks to Albert Keyack for inviting me to join Kilburn & Strode’s online roundtable on invention capture in the Covid-19 era! Albert cohosted the event with his colleagues Freddy Thiel and Matt Kilner.

Inhouse counsel shared fascinating stories of how they continue to harvest ideas and patent ideas remotely, the challenges of being global, what anthropologists and sociologists can teach patent attorneys about interacting with technology, the positive impact of female scientists on increasing invention disclosures, and the importance of hallway conversations to sparking innovation.

At the end of the session, I mentioned how valuable these insights are to bringing real-world perspectives into the classroom when I teach. Hopefully, as we shift more to the online medium of working, we’ll have more opportunities to learn and collaborate together in new and exciting ways.
