Profiles in Leadership | Engaged for Impact

Emory University’s strategic framework, #OneEmory: #EngagedforImpact, calls on its members to “foster a culture of eminence that attracts and inspires scholars of the highest order.” As the vice provost for faculty affairs from 2018 until 2022, Timothy Holbrook sat right in the middle of that work and prize, having charge of creating development opportunities for faculty in #leadership, #scholarship, and #teaching.

Professor Holbrook is an internationally recognized #patent law scholar. He frequently comments on #intellectualproperty law issues, appearing in various media, including CNN, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Scientific American, and Science. He has also advocated for the rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (#LGBTQ) community. His commentary and op-eds on LGBTQ issues have appeared in various outlets, including CNN, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, and Huffington Post. Professor Holbrook joined me for a wide-ranging fireside chat on his professional journey and lessons on leadership.
