Faculty-Administrator Leadership Program (College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs)

UIC’s Faculty-Administrator Leadership Program (FALP) offers front row access and mentorship in higher education administration to a small group of faculty members.

This year’s program kicked off with my FALP colleagues and I meeting with Dean Michael Pagano (College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs).

In a wide-ranging discussion, some issues Dean Pagano shared with us included the role of a Dean, strategies in scenario planning, how he pivoted his faculty and students to online learning, addressing social justice issues at a college level, and melding college-level achievements with the broader strategic goals of the university.
